Majdi Food Center set for GCC expansion plans

Majdi Food Center, one of the largest wholesale and retail food companies in the region and the leading distributor of spices, dry food, herbs and pulses, is revamping its information management systems to effectively manage its rapid expansion and business growth. Majdi Food Center has chosen Sage Line 500 Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution to build higher quality, accuracy, cost reductions and tracking into its operations.

“The previous system could not meet the expectations of a fast growing organization. The process of consolidating information took a long time, thus hampering strategic decision-making. We needed to connect the headquarters with different divisions and subsidiaries, and to connect our partners and vendors,” said Hani Abdou, managing director of Majdi Food Center. “We selected a well-established solution to help sustain the dramatic growth of the company, and facilitate the manufacturing, finance, and operational functions. With Sage, Majdi Food Center will have permanent control of the manufacturing and other operations, will have quality control over the entire manufacturing line and the chance to plan and control production for each manufacturing order.”

Majdi Food Center is now in the process of implementing the new Sage Business Intelligence and Paperless modules, with the help of the local Sage enterprise partner Bader Al Mulla Infotech Solutions. It has a 7 concurrent user license of Sage financial and distribution modules. Today, Majdi Food Center is rapidly expanding its business with operations spreading across GCC countries especially Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman and the UAE with the main processing facility in Kuwait.

Mr. Ausaf Usmani, manager, Bader Al Mulla Infotech Solutions, said “Majdi Food Center needed an internationally standardized solution that provided greater control of manufacturing, supply chain and operations through transparency, visibility and effective cost tracking. Sage Line 500 can handle large volumes of data effectively and integrate operations such as accounting, purchase, cash management, order management and resource planning to cut cost and improve profitability.”

Marc Van der Ven, Managing Director, Sage Software Middle East added: “Majdi Food Center wanted a reliable local partner to implement and support their system and Bader Al Mulla Infotech Solutions was the perfect choice. They have invested in skilled consultants and advanced training on Sage Line 500 ERP. We see quality partners as a key differentiator in winning the trust of potential customers.”
